KSD TRUST PORTAL & MOBILE APPLICATION PRIVACY POLICY AND KVKK (TURKISH PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION LAW) INFORMATION NOTICE

As the Konya Goldsmiths and Jewelers Association (“KSD” or the “Association”), we attach the utmost importance to the protection, confidentiality and security of the personal data of our members, our goldsmith and jeweler tradespeople and all citizens who use our website (ksd.org.tr) and our official mobile applications. This Privacy Policy and Information Notice has been prepared in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), the Google Play Developer Policies and the Apple App Store privacy requirements.

Your personal data are processed by the Konya Goldsmiths and Jewelers Association, in its capacity as data controller, within the framework set out below.

2. Personal Data Collected and Methods of Collection
When you use the KSD Trust Portal and our mobile application, data may be collected in the following categories:
- Contact & Identity Information: The first name, surname, e-mail address and telephone number you share through contact and support forms, when subscribing to the newsletter or when filing an official complaint.
- Report & Complaint Data: The description of the incident and the visual evidence provided by you in reports of irregularities, counterfeit gold or under-karat gold submitted in the interest of consumer safety.
- Technical & Device Information: Anonymous performance and crash logs, operating system version and device model, collected to ensure the stable operation of the application.
- Location Data (Optional): Only when the user grants permission, real-time location data is used to list the nearest authorised KSD member goldsmiths and jewelers on the map. Location data is not stored on our servers or transferred to third parties.
3. Purposes of Processing Personal Data
Your collected personal data are processed solely for the following purposes:
- Verifying the records and seals of jewelers and goldsmiths and the KSD Trust Certificates,
- Having our supervisory boards examine the reports and complaints submitted regarding counterfeit gold, under-karat gold and consumer grievances in the market,
- Responding to the requests, suggestions and support applications of our users,
- Communicating official association announcements, urgent security alerts and sector newsletters,
- Improving the security, performance and user experience of the mobile application and the web portal.
4. Sharing of Personal Data and Third Parties
KSD does not under any circumstances sell, rent or share your personal data with third persons or companies for commercial, advertising or marketing purposes. Your data may be shared with the competent authorities only where there is a legal obligation (judicial authorities, the public prosecutor’s office or official supervisory bodies).
5. Data Security and Retention
Your data are stored on servers protected by SSL/TLS encryption protocols and firewalls that comply with international security standards. Technical and administrative measures against unauthorised access, loss or misuse are applied meticulously.
6. Your Rights under the KVKK (Article 11)
Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK (Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698), every user has the right to:
- learn whether their personal data are being processed,
- request information about the processing if their data have been processed,
- learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data are used in accordance with that purpose,
- request rectification if they have been processed incompletely or inaccurately,
- request the erasure or destruction of the data.
