The ordinary general assembly of the Konya Goldsmiths and Jewelers Association was held on Friday, 16 January 2015, at the Mevlana Bera Hotel. In the election held at the general assembly, İsmail Karagöz was elected president of our association.
Opening the general assembly, the chair of the presiding committee, Ziya Özboyacı, noted that congresses are a time to give account and to discuss the services of the new term, and said that the high turnout was gratifying for the profession.
In his speech, President İsmail Karagöz drew attention to shrinking profit margins and declining sales in the sector, and stressed that efforts to protect the rights of fellow professionals should not be limited to the association's activities alone. Karagöz stated that their doors would be open to members for all their problems and that they would tour the bazaars to stay close to the members.
At the handover ceremony, President Karagöz, who took over the post from the previous administration, thanked his colleagues in the previous administration for their service.
