The extraordinary general assembly of the Konya Goldsmiths and Jewelers Association, under the leadership of President Tahir Azman, was held on Friday, 7 August 2026, at the Hükümet Alanı Underground Bazaar, on the agenda of founding a federation in the jewellery sector. The meeting, which attracted strong interest from goldsmiths and jewellers, took place in the common area of the bazaar with the participation of members.
Federation agenda discussed
After the presiding board was formed, the agenda items on the founding of the federation were taken up. In a presentation, the purpose of the federation and the founding process were shared with members; members voiced their questions, views and suggestions. Following the discussions, the agenda items were put to the vote of the general assembly.
Strong representation on common issues
The federation initiative aims to make the voice of tradespeople heard under a stronger umbrella on the common problems of the jewellery sector and to increase cooperation among sector organisations.
